What are dried shrimp?

Dried shrimp are called also known as ebi. By drying the shrimp shrink  and get an intense, concentrated shrimp flavor. You only have to add a small amount to get the recognizable flavor in your dish.

Cooking with ebi:

Before use you should wash the prawns (soak 15 to 30 minutes), cook them (in water or broth) and let them cool off. Then you can add the shrimp to your dish. Dried shrimp are tasty as the base for a soup or as a garnish in many different stir fries.

Storage:

Airtight in the fridge , you can keep them for several months.

In The Netherlands you can buy Rens Redi Bere Dries shrimp at supermarkets and tropical groceries.
