What is layered cake coconut?

The Dutch name ‘spekkoek’ (baconcake) is caused by its’ resemblance with streaky bacon, called speck in Indonesia, where this treat originates.

In this coconut variety, the spiced ,dark, rich layers, alternate with lighter layers with coconut flavor, a good combination.

It is delicious as a dessert with vanilla ice cream, but just a little piece with your coffee or tea is also recommended.

Storage:

The layered cake is best preserved when you wrap it in plastic foil and keep in the refrigerator.
