What is Ong choy?

You can also encounter it as water spinach or kancun. In Asian cuisine it is a favorite vegetable, because of the mild taste and because it grows in nature. Please note that the ong choy shrinks lot when heated, just like spinach.

Cooking with Ong choy:

It is realy great in a stir-fry but you can also eat in raw, in a salad. Cut the stems lengthwise , as they may be a little stringy.

Is this water spinach healthy?

Like spinach it is also rich in iron and calcium. It is an excellent source of antioxidants and vitamins C and A.

Storage:

You can’t preserve it very long, the leaves become limp and then yellowish. So buy them, wash them and they are ready to go!
